I don't own How to Train Your Dragon.

Toothless loved his master, or more correctly, his friend so much. Hiccup saved his life, even though he was the reason Toothless lost a bit of his tail. But still, Hiccup was different from other humans and Toothless felt safe and comfortable with him.

That's why Toothless wanted nothing but the best for Hiccup.

Toothless never really liked Astrid. Her first impression was not really good. She was hurting Hiccup! Toothless felt angry anytime he remembered the memory. He took the Viking Girl on an extreme flight so she would apologize to his savior. And when she did, he stopped being hostile towards her.

But when she kissed Hiccup's cheek?

Oh, no, definitely no. Toothless could feel that this couple wouldn't be really good. Sure, Astrid was a great partner in battle and she seemed like she loved Hiccup to bits. But Toothless was having none of it. And when Astrid kissed Hiccup? Gosh, he felt like roaring and wanted to tackle her away! But Hiccup seemed happy…

So frankly, Toothless never really approved of their relationship. Even though Astrid had changed and she showed affections towards Toothless also, Toothless couldn't help but still dislike her. A dragon had wonderful feelings and senses, I tell you. They were never wrong in those. And somehow, Toothless felt that Astrid was not the one for Hiccup.

But there was this girl in Berk who could do with Hiccup, he thought. A girl named (y/n) who tamed a Typhoomerang Dragon she called Eir. Ah yes, Toothless approved of her! (y/n) was a really nice girl. She never looked down at Hiccup, not even once. Even when he wasn't popular, (y/n) was always there and supported him.

(y/n) wasn't really strong, unlike Astrid. But she would use her own heart and thoughts when it comes to danger, which was why Eir accepted her as her Master. (y/n) named Eir after the Goddess of Healing even though that Typhoomerang Dragon was lethal.

Toothless knew that (y/n) and Hiccup had been friends ever since they were little. He really liked (y/n) because of her nature. She never wanted to kill dragons since she were young, and not because she was afraid, but she didn't want to harm any living creatures. She ate meat, yes, but only because those meat were dead when given to her. But now, for her, dragons were not simply animals. They were friends, and she would never hurt friends.

(y/n) also liked Toothless so much. She always said that Toothless was such a cute dragon and his loyalty towards Hiccup was something to admire. The frosting on the cake was the fact that Toothless also befriended Eir who was a bit antisocial, so it made (y/n) liked the Night Fury even more.

Ah, Toothless wondered if she could be Hiccup's partner instead of Astrid.

"DAMN IT! DAMN IT ALL!"

Toothless watched silently as Hiccup thrashed around, frustrated.

"Hiccup, what's wrong?" (y/n) asked. She decided to visit the Chief and his dragon with Eir but it seemed that Hiccup was really frustrated.

"What's wrong? WHAT'S WRONG? EVERYTHING IS WRONG, (Y/N)!" He cried out.

(y/n) stared blankly at the fuming Viking and approached him. She pinched his ear and pulled him down to the grass, making him yelled in surprise. "Stop your pacing and tell me what's wrong, Hiccup. Surely not everything is wrong in this world. Not Toothless, for example." (y/n) said as she sighed.

Hiccup mumbled incohorently, so (y/n) pinched his ear again. "What was that?"

"It's Astrid."

"Oh…"

As Toothless growled lowly, (y/n) couldn't help but feel slightly sad. She had to admit that she had a special feeling for the one-legged Chief of Berk. He was really cute when he wasn't the 'Pride of Berk', and he worked hard. Sure, people looked down on him because he was weaker, but his heart was something (y/n) admired. When Berk started dragon riding because of Hiccup, she was ecstatic. She was really glad that they finally looked at Hiccup's bright side. Sure, she was worried and angry when Hiccup risked his life to defat the giant dragon, but thankfully everything went well. Except for his leg, that is.

But what chance did she have? She always knew that Hiccup had a crush on Astrid, and now they were together. She could only support them. After all, Astrid was stronger and prettier. She was really brave as well. Her confidence was wonderful. Those things, she lacked of.

"What's wrong with Astrid, Hiccup?" (y/n) asked softly. She sat down beside him and let Toothless laid his head on her lap lazily. Eir followed, but on Hiccup's lap instead. It was becoming a small habbit of theirs when they were alone with their dragons. Toothless liked (y/n) just like Eir liked Hiccup.

"It's just… I don't get her anymore." Hiccup sighed heavily.

"What do you mean?"

"One time, she's happy and all. Next, she would get angry and hit me repeatedly. And then, she just left! She never tell me what's wrong, she left the matter just like that! Not to mention she seemed pretty comfortable with Snotlout these days… Whenever I saw her with him, she was far more relaxed than she was with me. Top of it was today. She just barged into Toothless' room when I was setting up his tail and suddenly, bam! She yelled at me for being a jerk or something for not paying attention to her. I mean, I'm a Chief, for Odin's sake! I can't just leave my duties easily! She was the one who encouraged me to be a Chief, and she said she would understand my hardwork, but the fact? NOT AT ALL! She also said that she's better off without me, 'the dumbass who can't see what's important for her'." Hiccup rambled.

Toothless gave another low growl at the mention of it. He was there, after all, when Astrid barged in and yelled nonsense. Who did she think she was? She was no better than the others (except (y/n)) for Hiccup! At least, that was what Toothless thought.

(y/n) sighed and placed a hand on top of Hiccup's shoulder. "Oh, Hiccup. It's not your fault. It's her loss to break up with someone as wonderful as you. iIf she want nothing to do with you, then let her be. There's still a lot of better girls out there who will love you no matter what. Stop thinking about it, okay?" She gave a smile. But inside, she was downright furious with the blonde Viking girl. How could she hurt Hiccup like this?! She should know better!

"I guess so…" He gave another sigh.

Toothless had enough of his master's mellow. He used his tail to pushed (y/n) towards Hiccup, making her fell and Hiccup had to catch her. However, the impact caused both of them to fall to the green grass, with their faces closed to each other. Toothless hummed in satisfaction as Eir gave a snicker.

"I-I'm sorry! I don't mean to-"

"It's fine! It's Toothless' doing! Hang on-"

"No! I-I can get up myself!"

"Ouch!"

"S-Sorry!"

Hearing their bicker at how they should get up since their legs were tangled, Toothless was quite disappointed, to say the least. So with Eir's help, they 'accidently' tripped on them, pushing (y/n) closer to Hiccup that their lips were practically touching.

Both of their eyes widened and (y/n) quickly got up, covering her mouth with her hands, her face flushed red. Hiccup stood up as well, feeling awkward and nervous as well as embarrassed. His face was no better than (y/n)'s in term of redness.

"U-Um… Let's go back to Village."

"Y-Yeah, let's go…"

Hiccup offered his hand, which (y/n) accepted shyly.

Toothless grinned happily. He knew that Hiccup would be far happier now. (y/n) was the right one for him, and Toothless was sure. After all, you can't underestimate a dragon's thought!
